Holy crap, it's December???!!!???

AKA Holy crap, she's updating???!!!???

Wow, time flies when you're up to your ears in medical school stuff. Scold me if you will, I know I've been a bad blog owner. I've been busy... and by the looks of things, it's just going to get even busier. So far, I've finished 2 family practice rotations, a pathology rotation (no autopsy though, boo - that would've been a hell of a learning experience), and I'm halfway done with my OMT rotation. So far, all of my rotations have been pretty cushy. Great hours, relatively minimal stress – I’ve been spoiled. But come January 3rd, my life of "leisure" is likely over... I have a surgery rotation in March, Internal Medicine in February... more hospital patients, more H&P's/admit orders, possibly sicker patients, longer hours... but you know, I think it still beats sitting in a lecture hall for four-plus hours 5 days a week. I just wish I knew what rotation I’m supposed to be doing in January…

On the wedding front - we have a church and a hall, and that's all I care about right now... well, I'm starting to care about quality, affordable photographers and florists. And I know it’s still early, but I reeeaaally want to shop for a wedding dress… =) Everyone says you just know it when you find “the dress”, but me being as indecisive as I am, this could take some work. Fatima and I did a “pre-emptive strike” a few weeks ago, just to see what was out there, how it would fit me, etc… I wish I was taller/had longer legs… I realized that I probably will have to rule out any dress with details at the bottom, because I would have to have the dress hemmed and would therefore lose the detailing, or at least most of it. Some have told me that I can get the dress brought up from the waist, but that will likely be difficult and/or expensive. Oh the drama that comes with being short. But it’s probably easier than being too tall – at least I can get stuff hemmed.

On the blog front - I swear I'll throw in some links or something at some point. It's hard to update out in the QC because the phone at our apartment isn't working, so there goes my internet access at home. I really can’t complain, since I’m living there for free. We’re just waiting for someone to fix it.

Oh, and this being my first winter with a car, can I just tell you how much I wish sometimes that my limbs were longer? It takes a lot of effort to scrape ice/frost off a windshield/rear window when you’ve got short arms. I bought some de-icing spray, so hopefully that will make life easier. And I’ve learned that if you’ve got a small crack in your windshield, freezing temperatures + blasting the defogger/heater = watching the crack crawl across your windshield while you’re driving to the hospital at 7 in the morning. That was a fun day.

I think that’s it for now. Hopefully this’ll whet yer whistles until I blog again.. in like 4 months. =P
